Bucket of Worms

Bucket of Worms

Quantity:

Weight

A mixture of Dendrobaena venata and Eisenia fetida. We supply a mix of worms because they have slightly different likes and dislikes and we have found that a combination of these two species is best for worm composting. The amount of food worms eat is directly related to the number of worms you have, 1kg of worms ( approx. 2000 worms ) will eat 500g of food waste a day in optimal conditions. If you look after your worms they should double their population in 4 to 6 months. You don't have to worry about ending up with too many, these extraordinary creatures will self regulate their population.

NB: Price includes delivery. Worms are live stock!!! We operate a guaranteed next day delivery. We need to contact you to make sure that you will be in when they arrive so please include e-mail or phone details when you complete your order.

Anti-acid Lime Mix

Anti-acid Lime Mix

Quantity:

Size

Add a handful of Lime Mix neutraliser to your wormery every couple of weeks to prevent acid build up. Lime Mix also helps prevent smells, flies and white worms. Because it contains grit it also aids the worm's digestion, and its drying properties make it good for wet or under-performing kits.

Use a pH meter to check the level of acidity in your wormery, good composting conditions are achieved when the contents are close to pH7.

Coir Brick

Coir Brick

£1.75

Quantity:

Occassionally wormeries get fruit fly problems. If this happens to your wormery one solution is to buy a coir brick. Put the brick in a big bucket and add water until no more is being taken up. One brick can make up to 7 litres of coco. Spread the coco over the top layer of your wormery and keep checking until you are confident the problem has gone (probably 2 to 3 weeks).
