Horticultural grade pebbles are relatively dust free however after transportation are always best washed through before use. Tip - an easy way to wash 50l bags in the home is stab the bottom of the bag with a screwdriver, put the bag in the bath or shower and fill the bag with water from the top and leave to drain. pH adjusted water is the best practice.
Do not confuse grow rocks (pebbles) with lava rocks. Lava rocks are not ideal for hydroponics systems as they alter pH and leave heavy residues.
